As I understand it, my last car insurance with me as the principal driver, ended in January 2010, and most insurers, would consider it too far in the distant past, to allow me my 65%, which I had at that time.
I have been driving continously all of this time however, as a named driver on my wifes car policy.
I am now wanting to have a policy of my own, and my question is, does anyone know of an insurer, who will honour a 30 month no claim discount letter?
Thanks in anticipation.

Co-op take it up to 3 years old.0

A decent insurer would possibly give you equivalent discount if you were named as a driver.
One way to sort this out going forward would be to alternate who buys the insurance from year to year as your no claims would only be a year old.0 -
Norwich Union used to be pretty good about this sort of thing. Prices have become horrendous, but a decent place to start.0

They are no longer nu, (aviva), and won't take it over 2 years old. (Their service may match your opinion of their prices!)0 -

Many thanks to all who have replied.
I phoned the CIS to tell them the story, and yes, they are the only ones that I have found, that give a 3 year break.
Having put myself thru "Go Compiled" etc, with my pretend 7 years NCB in place, the quotes came back between £290 and lots at £350 ish.
You know "that feeling", when they kick the box that you are standing on, from underneath you, well how does £1030 sound?
They did not even offer any divi stamps,(young readers will not understand that), so the task goes on.
I think that I may forgo my NCD altogether, and stay as a named driver on my wifes policy, as everyone is talking 2 years max.
My last shot was LV, as they were the last company I was with, who issued the proof letter, and they said ...12 months !
So I think, that is it, thanks for trying to help.0 -
Have you tried speaking with a local broker about this? It's a long shot but may be worth a try.0

Have you tried your last insurer, the one who the no claims bonus is from?
Alternatively give Direct Line a try.0
