I have a big tub of Aqueous Cream which I slop on when I have been out in the sun.I have very fair skin and burn very easily so normally use Uvistat cream which is a complete sunblock but I still get a little scorched so as soon as I am home I have a shower and slap this stuff on the burned bits and it seems to help.Aqueous cream is about £2.00 for a huge tub and it lasts for ages.I actually had it on prescription when I was having r/therapy as its what they advised to put on where I was being blasted wiith the r/t waves and it seems to keep my skin o.k.I still have to use dermol shower and bath stuff as my skin is so fragile.DiproBase is very good as well but I think you only get it from the Drs

The best, best thing in all the world for sunburn is

    vinegar.

Honest!!! It smells a bit odd for the first couple of minutes, but it takes the sting out (neutralises the skin I think) and is amazing. After that, any body lotion you have to hand will do to moisturise - cheap baby lotion is good. I use E45, but only because that's what we have in.

Tomatoes - fresh not tinned and sliced finely and laid over the burned area. sounds insane but I can vouch for it working!

I read once that gin works well, dabbed on not drunk, haven't tried it myself though sounds a bit drying to the skin.

I used savlon last time and it worked well. Not home made, but it's something commonly found in the average house.

Not seen anyone mention camomile lotion, that was the aftersun of the 1950's and 60's.
