Shopping in berlin?

Having short break in Berlin and then Prague. Just wondered if there were bargains to be had as like a bit of retail therapy when on holiday?

You could check-out C&A since the UK does not have them any more.

Ka Da We - Berlin's answer to Harrods - no bargains but worth a visit.

I second C&A - although the prices are never as cheap as when they were in the UK.

Ka Da We has a good restaurant and food court on the top floor. I recall having very good cakes there.

I love shopping but I didn't find Berlin too good. I did find a decent pair of boots and a bag in TK Maxx there. The c&a branches I found were quite small compared to others in Europe. They always remind me of my mum buying me the grown up clock house stuff as an 11 year old!

It's not really the place for bargains but the shopping opportunities are plentiful.

    Yes, definitely,
Berlin is an exciting vibrant city, with lots of intriguing recent history, that has had a pivotal role on the shape of the modern world. (WWII, Cold War, communism) If you can get over the need for a beach-holiday, its great.

There is no city anywhere, that has a large part of its city centre where all developments were forbidden, between the 60's and the 90's, but has now been opened up to innovative and unique architecture.

If you decide to go, you could try a tour with Brewers city tours. http://www.brewersberlintours.com/index.html - run by Terry Brewer, a mine of information, and all his guides, that I met, really knew their stuff. (I am not linked with them - its just that they're very good)
