I am guessing you are talking about Credit Card PPI??

There are three issues, firstly to meet the definition of self employed, you did need to be paying NI contributions. This means they are quite right to refuse to pay out.

Second point is that you weren't eligible for a major element of the cover - you MAY have a mis selling case, but this would be hard to prove.

Final point is that there may be carer cover on the policy - have you tried to claim on these grounds??
  • Hi
I was not classed as self employed I was a Director and an employee
I am so annoyed with this insurance company I personally think they are playing on words. Also they told me to be eligible for payment under the carer's section I have to have left full time employment to become a carer and as I did not pay any NIC I am not eligible. But nothing was explained when I took out the policy they were quick enough in taking the payments were do I go from here
