HELP! Need help with windows live photogallery

Hi,
I use this every day and I dont know what I have done!
I sell things on Ebay and normally I scan, it says processing and then automatically saves as img 123 etc. However, last night I did something wrong and for some reason things started to save as PDF using acrobat. I have changed it back to photogallery but I cant see the scanned pics at all. When I go to Admin pictures what I see are img123 etc for my most recent imports and the windows photogallery icon, when I click on say img 123 I get taken to photogallery but cant see the pics I have scanned in!! This is happening for all my new scans they are just showing an icon. Clealry I am not saving properly.

I use Vista and am being driven mad.
I obviously clicked something somewhere so I ended up with acrobat, and now I cant access my scans at all. I need straightfoward scanning in of pics not a marathon journey. Can anyone tell me a simple way to sort this out? I need it asap and am not terribly literate. I am sure there is a simple solution which would save my BP

Change the settings back from tiff/pdf to jpeg and they should work

however old stuff will need re scanning

From your description I would hazard a guess that it's a setting in your scanning software that needs changing.

When you go to admin/pictures, do you see img123.pdf / img123.jpg or just img123 without a file extension?

You say " I have changed it back to photogallery " - what did you change, and where?

The items that were scanned and saved as PDF will either need to be scanned again to save as JPG, or you need to convert the PDF files to JPG (some photo editing packages wil do this)

Hi, in pictures it hasnt got a file extension. it just comes up as img123 etc or whatever I have named it. When I just went to windows live photogallery I cant seem to access my pics. I may need to start all over again , it seems as though they must be saving somewhere but I cant see where they are saving . Whever I try to access them I still cant find them or they are the blank icon

I think I have made some progress. I have found what could be my most recent image but windows photogallary is saying that it cant read the image because the file may be damaged, in the wrong format or corrupted. So sohow I am saving in the wrong place and format, and this started when I accidently started saving in acrobat.

When you're in admin/pictures, click on Tools > Folder Options, then click the View tab. Scroll down and find "Hide file extensions for known file types" and click on the tick to remove it. Click Apply (or OK) all the way out. The files should now have their file type visible.

Phew, it seems OK now!

Thank you all so much! Its just so frustrating, I dont know how that happened, my family all tried but none of us could sort it.:j

Except now my printer is only printing out with a pink hue, balck comes out as brown...............................................I have changed the cyan cartridge and the yellow, still pink?? I have no idea why/ Is it related to something I did? I have cleaned the printer head.

I have an epsom EPSOM SX435W and am using replacement cartidges which have been fine up until now?
