Transfer Money From Credit Card (Barcleycard) To Pay For Private Car Sale - options?

I have limited myself to £4500 on my nice new long term interest free Barclaycard credit card (thanks to MSE).
After looking around many trade sellers I didn't find anything that really caught my eye.
However, there are at least 3 private sellers offering what look to be very nice vehicles.

My question to you guys is, what are the easiest and cheapest ways for me to transfer the money from my Credit Card to the private seller whilst keeping the spends in the interest free category of my credit card?

I have thought of:

1. Buying travellers cheques and cashing them at my bank. (which would be the lowest commission?)
2. Paying the seller via Paypal. (would it just be a case of covering the 3.5% charge to the seller, or would Barclaycard frown on this?)
3. Asking the seller to set up a Buy It Now auction and pay for that via Paypal.

Any other methods or comments on the above would be greatly appreciated.

    1. Will be treated as a cash advance. Don't do it.

In a nutshell, you've applied for the wrong card if you wanted 'cash'. You should have gone for an MBNA card offering 20 months 0% on cash into your current account for a 4% fee, or exploited the M&S card's Sterling TC option offering 15 months 0% for a 1% fee.

Can't help with the PayPal/eBay options, sorry.

Paypal purchases are are treated as Purchases. Much easier to send money from your Paypal account to one of your families and getting them to transfer to a bank account, rather than messing about with ebay.
  • Would that be just the 3.5% charge that id need to account for?
