couple jailed for not declaring massive sales

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2176869/Gail-Fox-Ronald-Donkin-Couple-260-000-car-boot-sales-jailed-dodging-tax-takings.html

All I Can say is I am obviously selling the wrong things!

£350,000 In 7 years! Although there was also mortgage fraud involved as well which might explain the jail term.

That's not a massive salary per annum for a joint income, if that was their only income. Barely into the 40% tax bracket - doesn't excuse it though!

Also mentioned that they'd also pleaded guilty to money laundering in an earlier trial.

the report is not too detailed but on first reading it I'm not too sure of what they have done apart from not paying tax, as the report says all their assets have been frozen and hope to be seized! seems a bit harsh for not paying tax like so many big business do in this country.

No - it's £50K total. They have made £350,000 over a period of about nine years. That's less than £35,000 pa. Not a big salary, by any means.
