What's the criteria/eligiblity for platinum barclaycard

I have been reading that the minimum income required for a platinum barclaycard is £20,000 yet I have got one and I have a total income of £9,400 tax free as I'm on benefits and working part time. When applying I said I had and income of 12,400 as I included the housing benefit and council tax benefit I get. Have they made a mistake? Also if I did qualify, how do you get the really low 7.9% apr cards (mine is 19.9%). P.S, I did ask the online advisor if I could include housing and ctax benefit as an income and they said you could include anything that was'nt tax credits. My current income is 13k tax free(when you include housing benefit and ctax) before overtime.

Or though their eligibilty says 20k the application will go more on your credit history then how much you earn.

Have you received the card yet. Barclaycard may give you a different card if you don't meet criteria for card applied for.

Put simply, you need a better credit rating (as assessed by them, not Equifax et al) than you've got.
