Thanks....my mistake I thought they were from Tesco.......that makes the difference 14.48%.
Quite a hefty increase in the time frame. The price of the potatoes was a bit of a shocker....I know they were expensive last year due to a poor harvest. We buy our potatoes from the farm shop and they are quite a bit cheaper than last year. We pay around 24p a kilo.....the cheapest the supermarkets seem to do is around 47p a kilo for their basics/value brand....potatoes used to an absolute staple when our kids were young and as cheap as - well - chips.
Potatoes have shot up in price to the point that we are only having them around once a week or if we can get them ys.
Even then we are mashing them with carrot and onions.
They go on the Lidl weekend offer next week at £1.09 for 2.5kg if that helps anybody.I know I'll be getting two£36/£240
£5522

Yesterday I got a 12.5kg bag of potatoes from Morrisons for £4.99. I would have got a 25kg bag from a local farm but the last 2 we bought last year were full of potatoes with black in them and ended up chucking loads away, which has put us off a bit.Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.0

to Tessie Bear, our Aldi used to do those chicken portions also, till I discovered them, then they discontinued them, story of my life, and that was well over a year ago now. used to get a good 3 meals for 3 of us out of those and sometimes some left for a much up with other leftovers to make a casserole type thing. oh well, but why do some stores sell some things and others not?? it's not as if these days we all don't need the cheaper stuff, and they were such good quality aswell.0

I think last year was just a poor year for potatoes, the one's we got from the farm were quite poor too and cost £8 for 25kgs, but this year ours seem absolutely fine and £6 a sack.0 -
Hi Teg Rem - I used to get chicken portions from Aldi last year until they stopped selling them. The good news is that the branch I use has just started to sell them again (seasonal thing ?) I found them a boon and plan to stock up until they (perhaps ) dissappear again. jac. x0

love the look of your recipe LG . I shall be giving it a go. I too have noticed the chicken pieces /thighs are disappearing from the shops and if you do find them half amount in cartons and twice the price.C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z #7 member N.I splinter-group co-ordinater
