Twin lakes - tips please.

I am planning on taking four children to Twin lakes next week.
I will be the only adult.
They are aged 4 and 7 ( boys), 7 and 11 ( girls).
Any tips on coping with different needs, heights etc?
Can I leave a picnic in the car and go back for it? I don't want to carry food for 5 people round with me, plus sun cream etc.
Thanks in advance for your tips.

i'm sorry i dont have any tips but just wanted to ask if you wouldnt mind posting a review/update when you get back.
we wenta few years ago and loved it, but it's had a lot added to it since then so i'm not sure that anything i could remember would still be relevant.0 -
OK, will do.
Sorry this thread has appeared twice. It didn't appear first time round, but has now.0 -
Great place!
If you live nearby, an annual pass is well worth it.
Plenty to do whatever the weather.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Lots of seating, picnic tables indoors and out, in sun and shade.
Quite a lot of picnic space near the entrance so if you are there for the day it is not too far to go back to your to fetch the cool box, rather than lug everything around all morning.
Take swimming costumes and towels for the splash pool if the weather is suitable - great fun for the kids.
Most rides do have height restrictions, measured by the staff, which seem fair.
Some areas are excusively for under 5s or under 6s. Just occasionally these were invaded by older children unsupervised which would have spoiled it for toddlers.
Some rides insist that a small child ( height will be specified ) must be accompanied by an adult. This caused me a few small problems as one child was OK, but the younger one could not go on without me and to be honest I don't cope with certain rides so he missed out. My solution was to restrict both children to rides they could both do, of which there were plenty. Key heights were 90cm. 110 cm, 120 cm. You don't need to know thier height as the staff have special sticks.
Lots of indoor soft play too, some for tinies, some for most ages/sizes.
I would say this site is great for all ages, but specially for 6 - 11, as older ones would not find it exciting enough, except as part of a family outing.
Plenty of toilets, at various points, and a variety of food and drink available ( which we didn't use ).
Everything seemed very efficient and tidy.
Lots of rubbish bins, some of which were dustbins with lids, to keep the wasps out.
We didn't bother with the animals and birds as it was a hot day so I cannot comment on them.
Although there is plenty to do the place did not seem too vast and I was not at all tired from walking.
Hope this is useful.0 -

Oh I forgot to say, you can eat your picnic at any of the tables, even those in the cafe area indoors, unlike some places.0
