ESA. WCA. Medical report or DRs Letter?

Hi, I've just completed my ESA50 and yesterday visited my GP to ask if she would provide me with a Doctors letter in support of my claim.
She was of the opinion that a 'hard facts' copy of my medical history printed directly from her computer, would be more effective than a typed written letter briefly outlining my condition. On the face of it I would tend to agree. However thinking about it, I'm wondering if a typed written DRs letter might not be a better option, In that it would be more descriptive of my disability. I would appreciate anyones thoughts on this.:)
And yes, I realise that Atos probably dont read the damn things anyway..but i really can't be guided by cynicism..thanks for any help.

A medical report would be more helpful than a copy of your records. A report can go into more detail about your condition and how it affects you, whereas your records only tend to give diagnosis, medication etc.0

Thanks for replying..Yes that makes sense. I suppose at the time I was just grateful for anything and did'nt really question her judgement. Looks like another visit to the quack then, oh dear i'm going to come over as ungrateful and pushy. Ah well at least i'll have something to send with the claim form, even if it is only a pill chart.0

Yeah.. as above... the benefit descriptors are unlikely to be particularly well targetted by printout of medical history although they should give a basis for claiming the problems you suffer given the diagnoses etc that is printed.... what you ideally want is a current medical opinion in relation to those descriptors. The ESA113 may be a decent template as this is the document ATOS HC can send to your GP for factfinding.

I was signed off from work in 2002 with severe depression. In 2004 i was diagnosed with bipolar and borderline personality disorder and anxiety issues.
At present I recieve Incapacity benefit and DLA, high rate care and low rate mobility.
My medication is constantly being changed and i have been advised by a psychiatrist that therapy could help.
I cannot/dont answer the phone, with persistant ringing I cannot cope and i become so enraged. I never answer the door as i cannot face anyone. I never go out alone and i do my shopping at about 2am when it is very quiet. I have a history of self harm and suicde attempts and I also look after my son who has severe ADHD, ODD, learning dificulties, dyslexia and severe behavioural problems.
I have received a letter with regard to the ESA, they have informed me that they will 1st ring me. This I cannot do and am in the process of writing to them explaining this.
Is this a good idea, any other advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks

How on earth can you be in that state, needing 24/7 care and at the same time bring up a severely disabled child as well??
Something doesn't add up.
DLA - HRC means that you have care needs day and night.
If I was looking at your ESA claim, I would be seriously concerned that your lifestyle does not match your stated needs and medical condition.0 -

Fortunately for the person asking the question their claim has absolutely nothing to do with you. No need for the bold, large font its very rude.
cheekipixi48, write your letter and see what they say.0
