Uninsured Losses claim - confused!
PremiumA
I had a minor accident in my car in january, I was not at fault as I was stationary when hit by another car, however as my car sustained almost no damage I contacted my insurers to cover myself although did not make a claim, however 6 months on I have had a letter from a solicitor informing me I would be summoned to court regarding a claim against me for uninsured losses of a third party (lex auto lease). Firstly I don't understand how anyone can claim against me when the accident wasnt my fault, secondly surely if I was at fault they should contact my insurers, can any one explain what is going on, I have been advised that regardless if I recieve a court summons I should attend or a judgement would automatically go against me.

You need to pass this letter on to your insurer (unanswered) to deal with.
If any other correspondence arrives do the same.
As long as you leave this with your insurer to deal with, even if the third party does issue a summons and a court case takes place, your insurer will handle it.0
