credit card invited to apply

I applied for a aqua card which was supposedbly aimed at people with poor credit rating but was of cause declined, but the same day big coincidence capital one have invited me to apply for a card which I fond unusual as this is the first time 'ever' I have recieved such post, I applied and a bit more confident then usual I may actually get one.

When they send post inviting for an application is this a sign that you have already ticked of some boxes to getting accepted for a card?

I was getting Capital One invites when I was 16

Sorry, don't get your hopes up, they tend to have minimum wage requirements and are generally pretty hard to get

On another note, try Vanquis you may have more luck with them, or BarclaryCard Inital especially if they are your bank

No, it's more a "sign" that you haven't requested your name & address details be removed from the 'Edited Register'. ;)
The Edited Register leaves out the names and addresses of people who have asked for them to be excluded from that version of the register. The edited register can be bought by anyone who asks for a copy and they may use it for any purpose.

I'm pretty sure that capital one do a credit card that "anyone" can get - meant ot be a build your credit history type card - start you on a really low limit eg £200!, and only criteria are you earn a certain ( not high) amount - maybe £10k ( am just guessing), and that you are over 18 etc.

This is not the normal cap one card so if you have applied for a normal one you may not get it but if you are desperate for a cc then could try the other one - I will look in a sec see if I can find anything on it on the net.

Edit: Here it is :- It doesn't actually say anything about being guaranteed it but i had thought that was the case. The interest rate is TERRIBLE though, I would stongly disuade anyone from getting this unless they knew they could definately pay it off in full every month and the only reason for having it was to rebuild credit history.
