It dependa on what car your after....
An audi tt quattro sport (240bhp) is a very fast car in a straight line. Its also fairly capable in the corners due to the 4wd. Its a capable car, but a bit bland to drive.

Mazda mx5 are a gokart on the road . They have the 'hairdresser' status which is a ashame as they are very rewarding to drive.

Honda S2000 again isnt the world fastest car but again its very rewarding to drive. And if you decided to drive through the twisties then this car comes in to its own and will leave many cars behind.

Most people dont care about a fun car... so they go for the bland audi tt

and if you get an S2000, you will have the joy of Hondas VTEC engine. Takes a little getting used to, but once you figure out it lots of fun when playing silly !!!!!!s :)

thanks it's s2000. I saw it from begind and looked so nice, but the front of the s2000 looks so ugly, also it seems for a car it's age it;s holding up prices quite well. 54 plate around 8-10 grand. I know audi tts that have gone as low as 3 grand same age.

That's because the TT is an unreliable heap with expensive running costs.

I think the TT is something my hairdresser would drive, after upgrading from her BMW 1 series or Renault Megane Coupe. I've never driven one however, so I pass no comment on how fun it is...
I've driven a Peugeot RCZ and was really impressed with it, but for me that's similar to a TT but for people who don't want to pay for a badge...

TT (first one) is nice to look at and great in a straight line. Numb in the corners though, you have to feel what's happening with your bum rather than your fingers! New one is completely different, controls are lighter and loads of feeling in the steering. The dirty secret though, is that whilst almost every single original one in the UK is 4WD, the new ones (the standard 2.0L) are FWD. Clearly the hairdressers don't care about this...
RX8 is a more practical car than the S2000, bigger boot, 4 proper seats, and it even revs higher than the high revving VTEC. RX8 is also excellent handling wise, I don't really think you'd be disappointed in the handling of it or an S2000. You do need to do your research about the engines, but then you need to do the same about the S2000, especially about the plastic rear window...

I have driven one. It's decently quick, but the 4WD system on it defaults to FWD which makes for a rather dull drive that constantly reminds you that it's based on the Golf platform.

If you've never driving a performance car before (as was the case when I first drove one) it'll feel awesome but once you have a go of a more interesting 4WD system such as Subaru's 50/50 setup or Nissan's mostly RWD setup, or indeed if you have a go of a proper RWD car such as the S2000, the TT seems rather bland. The performance car for people who have no interest in driving.

And yes the RCZ does look rather like a TT only with an !!!!hole on the roof as well as inside it. Always makes me think of this Corsa.

Why poke fun at that Corsa? Can you not see the bumroof is clearly a really important air intake for the boot?

My much loved S2000 was part exchanged yesterday (it had a glass rear window, almillar). Owned it 7 years and put 85,000 miles on it. Absolutely cracking drive, bit hairy in the wet if you're not careful but always puts a smile on your face. Agree with others that it still looks fresh and hasn't aged too badly at all. You also don't see too many of them on the road so nice to wave and acknowledge the other driver. Really will miss it.

When I bought it the only car that came close (and I looked at a wide range from Z4 to TVR) was the Boxter S but at the time I just couldn't justify spending twice as much.
