Just some Advice please

My wife has a mbna card with a very large limit but a smallish balance we are trying to move the balance to another 0% card but can't get a big enough limit! If we were to reduce the limit on the mbna card would it help boost a limit on another card we apply for?

Personally I think it would make a difference. However you would have to wait for her credit file to update to reflect the change before applying for another card. make sure the limit you leave it 25% more than what is on the card though x

You say you only have a smallish balance so you only need a small limit on new card surely.

what's smallish
what's her income
any other debts
what have you applied for and what were you offered

Waste of time, if you can't get a limit to cover this "small" balance then reducing it will make no difference. Are you on the electoral roll and is there additional debt, if you have bad debt and are associated to her that could be a problem too.
