Do you think i will be able to backdate JSA?

Your JSA won't be backdated if that's your reason as it doesn't satisfy the prescribed circumstances.0

The reason why i want to backdate it to 31 May is because i was expecting at least 10 hours a week and 40 hours a month but i ended up with fewer hours, i obviously waited to see how Junes month would turn out because i may have gotten more hours in the later weeks.
Maybe they can make an argument that i should have made a claim directly at the end of June, i didnt because i wanted to see if July would offer me more hours to make up for June, it didnt and i have ended up with even less hours than June.
If i knew i had to keep evidence for a future claim then maybe i would have, im not sure if i need evidence in this situation, although i can maybe check my emails and create a list of jobs that i applied for. I guess i will attend my appointment with my time sheets and invoice, if they ask for job application evidence i will have to look back at what i applied to, the only evidence i can give them is a word document with dates of applications and who i sent them to.
You do not have good cause for backdating - you need to be either absolutely unable to claim by any means, or can prove you were misinformed by a member of DWP staff as to your eligibility to claim. The reason you have given will not satisfy good cause, and attempting to backdate will only delay your ongoing claim.
Your advisor will not make the decision, it will be passed to a benefit processing office and they will look at the evidence provided. You will not get an immediate decision.
DWP will make the argument in response to the above argument that you could have opened and closed your claim at any point. They will also argue that even if you were expecting 10 hours a week, you could still have made a claim and had any income you received taken into account for that week. This argument will override any argument you may make as to the reasons why you did not claim, unless you can PROVE you were misinformed by DWP.0 -
