I am planning to take my 12 yr old to disneyland. There is so much information its mind boggling. any suggestions on airfare, motel, and theme park tickets much appreciated. We are planning to stay 4 nights and possibly go to six flags. Thanks in advace.

We visited there over a year ago whilst staying with family. Stayed across the road from the main entrance to Disneyland at Desert Inn which was cheap and cheerful but comfy and there were foodie places close by. Just walked across the road to the entrance so dead easy and car was in the motel car park throughout our stay.
Also went to Six Flags but that is nowhere near Disney - it was close to where our family lived however but a good 1hour 30 mins minimum drive in BUSY traffic from Disney area. Six Flags rides are very white knuckle and I hardly went on anything whereas can usually do a few at Universal or Thorpe Park so do be aware before you book to go there. There is also a water park alongside Six Flags which is open in the good weather.

If there is anyway you can stay for longer than 4 nights you should. As well as more time there, the flight is the main cost so 1 extra night in a hotel would hardly make any difference. And its quite a long flight.

Even 5 would be good, the first day will mainly be a write off, so then youd have 1 day for Disney, 1 day for 6 flags and then 2 days to do something else like the water park, and go back to Disney if you didnt get round it all on the first day.
