My DD managed to drop our camera today so that, now, whenever we try to turn in on, it says 'lens error, will sut down automatically, restart camera'.
I've connected to to the computer and can view the pictures she's taken but, obviously, now can't take any!
Does anyone know if we can get this fixed or are we looking a buying a new camera?
Cheers, Birdy

Can't help directly, but there is a list of suggestions to try here http://camerarepair.blogspot.co.uk/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html
If none of those work, I would expect that it would not be cost effective to get the camera repaired, and you will be looking at a new one. If you like the ixus and you don't mind refurbished, have a look at the canon outlet on ebay - you still get a 1 year canon warranty and some good prices (although check on camerapricebuster first, as recently some refurbs have been listed at a higher than 'new' price).
