.mov gives audio only

in Techie Stuff
I have a .mov file from (I think) a Sony camera, its HD and the latest version of Quicktime and I get audio only. This is on a WinXPSP3 system, I have the K-Lite codecs installed, but no Joy.
Even on my Win7 laptop, it only gives audio in WMP or QT.
Any thoughts?
