Advice for a city break

Hi all, I am looking advice/guidence in booking a 4/5 night city break for my wife and daughter in mid August,both need plenty of shops hence any location where its good value for money and not overly expensive to get to. I would really appreciate some suggestions.

I was going to say that !!

Apart from the shops in York itself there are plenty of shopping centres on the outskirts in a short bus ride.

York is just fabulous for a holiday.

Sorry I can't help with your question (other than say I like York too) but I'd suggest you repost this on the UK Holidays board.
