How to use bluetooth please?

Hi just popped over from the OS board for a bit of info if you nice techies would be so good.

I don't know what bluetooth is and would like to find out about it and how to use it please. I have a desk pc, a laptop and a Mot*rola tablet. We also have a Rena8lt Scen*c that has i music facility.

We don't have smartphones but I think both can use bluetooth.

Put simply, it's a technology that allows several devices to exchange data over short distances using radio.

First you need to find if each has Bluetooth built-in. The desktop probably doesn't and I don't know about the car radio, but the other two probably do. You can generally add it to anything with USB socket with a dongle that should not cost more than a couple of quid (eBay, Poundshop, etc.).

Then all you need to know is how to enable it and how to pair devices. Both are usually very simple to do, but how you do it varies from device to device.

For any given piece of hardware there will be numerous tutorials out there that are just an internet search away.
