Uhoh it's me again it would seem that I am having all my ebay problems in one month. I have received an item that is stained and smells. I emailed the seller who has offered a full refund if I return the item or partial refund if I keep it and clean it as they are sure the stain will come out. (dunno why they didn't clean it then?).

I won't use it now that I have seen the condition it arrived in but depending on the cost of returning it tracked when offset against the partial refund I might keep, it clean it and if it comes up ok give it to charity shop.

It is the first time I have returned or been refunded, once I have agreed with the seller which option to take could anyone tell me what do I need to do next?

Thank you

I assume you paid with paypal, if you wish to accept the partial refund the buyer should refund the amount agreed using the same payment method.
If you wish to return the item you need to send it via a fully tracked method at your own expense assuming the seller is private and not a business.
The seller will have to refund the full amount paid including the P+P but not the return costs again the refund would be credited to your paypal account.

I would ask them as the item is not as described will you also refund the return costs.

If not its low stars and a negative for them. Dont mentioned feedback in your message though.

They may report it as feedback extortion and get it removed.

Thank you. Yes I payed with paypal. Once I have agreed with the seller do I then go to the resolution centre and process the transaction through there, or is this only used when buyer and seller are in dispute? Also what information will I need to give the seller to refund me?

I know I sound dim but I don't sell (too much hassle) and in almost 2 years of buying this is the first time I have had any issues. I also have an INR at the moment but I am waiting a little longer before contacting the seller just incase it is delayed on a royal mail shelf.

    Thanks.

no they have agreed so no need to get ebay involved, if you payed by paypal they already have your paypal email to refund you.
