Morning all, dry here at the moment so WM will be on soon. First day of my holidays, just thinking about everything I need to do is exhausting but needs must. BB glad you enjoyed the leavers service, got to admit I shed a few tears for my Year 2 class at ours yesterday as they are off to the junior school. They are really lovely children and we've had a great year. Have to go to Bristol later , need to take a skirt back to M& * and DD needs dropping there to meet up with BF. Will have a browse for holiday clothes. Have a good day all and enjoy the sun if you have some. Hugs to all in need esp Bitsy hope Hubby finds something soon and take the holiday it will do you all good.:)

    Good Morning All

    Its Friday :j

Summer hols have started for us as DS finished yesterday, now I can lie in if I want but I wont :D

Weather not so nice today but is dry at the moment. Plan to potter about, got to pop into town at somepoint and need to drop DD at work later but that is it.

Spent some time on housework yesterday and overall the house looks ok. Plan to deep clean the front room and clean all the upstairs glass today.

Not sure what is for dinner, going to have a route around in the freezer shortly.

    Have a great day all.x

    Morning All

Not raining here at the moment so will run out with the washing shortly. Did manage to get 2 loads dry outside yesterday afternoon and they only had 1 shower!!

Spent most of last evening looking for car insurance, got mine and have just got DDs, will never get a multi-car policy again as it was far too expensive and was conned. The quote for the 2 was £1012 and I have got them for £850 all in so that's a saving.

Bitsy, hope you manage to enjoy your holiday without OH worrying too much, being away from home will hopefully let you forget your troubles.

Taplady - Still envious, hope you enjoy 'Tarquin'.

JackieO - Enjoy your early cinema trip!

Monnogran - Believe me when I say 'must clean the microwave' I meant must. It was horrible - it's an oven too and hadn't been done for a while!

Hope all those with children survive the end of term, it's only 3 weeks till we return so enjoy your holidays.

Just put a coat of thin paint on the plastered wall, will do another tomorrow. Meeting some friends for coffee this afternoon and then to other friends for tea. DD working 12 - 4 and she will join us for tea.

    Enjoy Friday! Take care. XX

    Hello all.

Ted's arrived! Little sweetie, he came running in, tail a-wagging, and made himself right at home!:D

JackieO enjoy Batman; Mr LW won't go to the movies on his own either - says it's not much fun on one's own.:o

Beemuzed I sympathise - I have to do tax self-assessment, just because I do a spot of dog-sitting for the sole purpose of retaining my sanity! Good luck!:o

Not a lot else to report from the Wolf's Lair today; Mr LW's on late shift today, so we've got the 2nd half of the veggie lasagne I made yesterday for dins.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Just got home from the cinema (earliest I have ever been to the pictures since Saturday morning ones back in the 1950s) It is quite a long film and in parts quite 'grown up' not for small children I would have said but very entertaining.DGS Danny is a complete film nut like me and loves the cinema (just as well as his job is in t.v.)

I just turned on my computer and saw the horrific shootings in Denver at the movie premier.I must admit nothing like that ever happens in Cuxton (where we went)How terrible for the folk there.Couln't blame the movie though its definitely a comic strip movie lots of crashes and bangs and special effects.
Just going off to pick up youngest DGS Mikey shortly as he has a birthday party to go to at the Bowling Alley in Chatham.I shall take my kindle and read and have a coffee while he is off with his pals .
Youngest DD saw the torch as it went past her office this morning so she is quite a happy bunny.
right I'd better get a move on Take care all

    Hi.

JackieO: What a good idea to go to the cinema early in the morning. I usually settle myself in my comfortable chair, wriggle with delighted anticipation when the lights go down and wake up as the credits roll.
You wouldn't believe the films I've slept through.

camelot: never mind, not only did you give me a laugh but you also inspired me to do something about my kitchen. My microwave was about the only thing that didn't need cleaning. This morning I washed the fronts of all the cupboards and appliances, Cleaned the hob and top oven(very yukky) and tidied out the miscellaneous drawer that was overflowing to the counter top. We won't think about the insides of the cupboards, will we?

You see? You lot are shaming me into doing my housewifely duty.
A local bakery donated a whole lot of fantastic artisan bread to the Drop-in on Sunday and what they didn't eat I brought home and have made into Bread Pudding. It is in the oven as I type and the gorgeous spicy smell is filling the house. They will be able to take slices of it away with them this week. I'm longing to taste it as the bread contained lots of nuts and seeds which should make it nutritious as well as tasty.

It's very hard to get the MSE message across to people sometimes. I have had to dissuade the Rev from sending for some china she saw in a catalogue. It was a bargain - a dinner and tea service for 8, and very attractive. However, I pointed out that the only things we would use were the small plates (we eat all our meals off small plates in the interest of slimming - abysmal failure so far), we never use cups and saucers, large plates and normal sized bowls, and anyway we have far too much china already. She thought we could get rid of all our existing china and just use these new ones. Sigh.....

I see that the weather is supposed to cheer up this week end. I do hope so, if only for all those families who have been saving like mad all the year to take the children away for a holiday. I feel so sad when I see them trailing around in the rain trying to find something to do that won't cost too much.

Enough. I must go and poke at my bread pudding.

    Evening all

    Sun is shining here :j:j

    Bitsy - enjoy your holiday
Nmlc - do you have a Home Bargains/Farmfoods type shop near you? If so try the Nicky toilet roll. 9 rolls for £2, I won't buy anything else! And the local 5star posh hotel uses it too :rotfl:

Finally feeling better now, still felt a bit rough this morning, but mornings are the worst anyways. Took work kids to visit Armed Forces career centre. I say took, I dropped them off with my colleague whilst I nipped to Primark for an hour ;). I only ended up buying some sale jewellery though.

Work kids have Friday afternoons off, and when I got back to office at 1pm everyone had decided to disappear, so we took the afternoon off too :D:D. I came home and got changed, then hopped in the car to go to the beach :). Spend 2 hours wandering along the coast, and then drove up the local 'mountain' to see the view there. Got back an hour ago and have been siting out on the patio since :). Feel much better for the walk, sea air and sunshine!

OS wise - put WM on when I came back and it's drying out on patio now. dishes to wash. tea will be pitta breads filled with falafel and salad I think.

    Have a nice evening all

    Hi all,

It's the weekend! WAhooo. Having a quiet night in with Pup tonight as he's off to stay with ex for a week from tomorrow. House will seem so empty without him.

Got another payrise today :) very pleased!

House is tidied, wash is one - hope to get them all done today so my weekend can be chilled out. Have also just cooked 7 jacket potatoes which I will have for dinner through out the week and now won't need to use the oven! Variety of toppings to include, tuna, beans, veggie chilli.

    Hope everyone is well.

Collected hubby from work at 6:30, hung washing on the covered line, had tea & we're now relaxing & ready for bed. We can have a lay in tomorrow as hubby doesn't need to be at work 'til 8.
I intend to do absolutely nothing 'til Monday as I'm worn out & feeling quite unwell, so I will take it easy & on Monday I shall start doing housework! Hubby is working far too hard & for far too many hours so after I've had 2 days rest I shall make sure I take good care of him when he is home.
    Have a good evening everyone.
    Hugs Hester
