Old Style Daily Thread for Friday 20th July 2012 Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 16th July. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all!
Yep it's 4.45am:eek: Wide awake at 4.30 so having a cuppa. Buddy the cat woke me up meowing his head off:rotfl: All he wanted was stroking, but it was "Get up Mum, I want something" so I did.
Today is not supposed to be good weather wise, although it's dry here at the moment. Weekend should be good though.
Helping my cousin move house tomorrow. Not doing a lot today, just waiting for OH to come over. Made some of Twinks hobnobs, leek & potato soup and a turkey meatloaf yesterday. Meatloaf is for tonight, will freeze the rest in slices.
Hope you all have a good day:T

Good Morning all well I'm wide awake so I thought I'd get up.My son-in-law is working from home so I don't have to be there until around 3 this afternoon when I promised to take Mikey to a birthday bowling party he has booked with one of his pals
His Mum has to be in to work at 07.00 a.m. this morning because of the Olympic torch is going through Chatham this morning and all the roads are getting shut for several hours. Its going right past her office so she will get a good view of it.Her boss is treating all the staff of a nice cooked breakfast for coming in so early to miss the road blocks.Until its gone past she won't be able to leave the office anyway to go on viewings so its a win-win situation. She said she will get some photos if she can.
DGS Danny phoned last night and said did I want to go and see the new Batman film with him so he is picking me up at 09.30.a.m. and we're off to the cinema .I must admit i don't think I've every been to the movies that early in the morning but he doesn't want to go on his own bless him.Eldest DD and him and the rest of the family are all off to Torquay tomorrow for a fortnight so he is at a loose end this morning.I don't mind , but I don't think I could face popcorn first thing.
Right time I got a wriggle on Have a good day everyone ,although it's looking a bit grey outside at the moment
Take care

DH has to go to B&Q this morning to get some paint and bits for the school. When we get back the bread should be done and DD wants a girly day ( Well afternoon by the time she gets up:rotfl:) so we are making vegetarian marshmallows this afternoon ( I have bought some veggie gel but I don't know how successful it will turn out). This evening we are both going to the Lush launch party in Luton, so we will have a few treats to come away with no doubt
Well I had better get showered BFN xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Cloudy and overcast here again this morning, although dry at the moment, rain forecast again for later. DH up and off to work at stupid early.
Dinner last night was scampi, chips and beans for the menfolk and fish, jacket and veg for me. DS2 arrived back from France safely at 11.30pm - so although a little late (should have been back at 11.00pm) it wasn't too bad, most of the children fell asleep on the coach on the way home, so he's up had brekkie and is now getting ready for school, doubt they will be doing much anyway and they finish at lunchtime.
Was productive day yesterday, managed to get housework done, washing, drying and ironing, changed our bed, packed and delivered bag to caravan, collected caravan key, cleaned up another hotspot, did some work on the pc for the caravan rally - so all in all not bad, have the normal Friday jobs to do, will be heading to the bank, food shopping (will be visiting A**i) as last week it saved me so much money - so will see what happens today, did visit SM yesterday as had run out of 1 or 2 bits that couldn't wait, namely toilet rolls, I'm afraid it's just about the only thing that I won't buy a cheap version of, so bought the items that I needed from a mainstream SM so should be able to get everything else in A**i. Going away tonight, should be a good rally and at last the forecast looks better, so am looking forward to been able to sit in the sunshine, hopefully!
Have a good day, stay safe and well x

showers here today. Am compiling my shopping list for later as we didn't get round to doing it yesterday.
House is tidy. WM is on and there's a bit finishing off in the TD that was on the line all night.
Am trying to find a campsite in the Tenby Saundersfoot area where we can take our camper for a short break next month - looking forward to having a proper holiday in 'Tarquin'
Bitsy - enjoy your holiday and I hope DH gets something sorted soon x x x
I had a great night out last night - I went for a curry with 2 of my friends and we had such a laugh:)
Better get a move on anyway.
Have a great day all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning everyone,
Bitsy have a lovely holiday and hope something turn up soon for OH.
Bargainbird you are entitled to a few tears!
I really wish that it would stop raining. DS is meant to be going on a bike ride with friends today and I can't see it happening in this weather.
We break up today. DS and OH are off on holiday tomorrow and the rest of us are going to join them on monday after the the girls dance show (4 performances over 2 days, they are going to be exhausted).
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Morning All!
Enjoy the film JackieO - don't think I've ever been that early either - well, not since Saturday morning pictures in the 60s!!
Washing is done - and hanging in conservatory again as , guess what - it's raining! BM is on, so kitchen will soon have that lovely fresh bread aroma.
Have appt to see DR this afternoon about my perpetually swollen ankles. Bet he says I need to lose weight! Also need to register for tax self-assessment. Apart from the pension and some teaching (which is all tax deducted at source) my odd days inspecting are treated differently, so need to work out tax on those. Why is life complicated??
Bitsy, do hope the holiday is good and that your DH won't spend all the time worrying. Fingers crossed that something good turns up for him very soon.
Oh well, must get on I suppose. Hope you all have a good day.Resolution:
Think twice before spending anything!0
