Hello
Bought a jumper on BIN from a private seller, described as perfect condition but arrived covered in bobbles. Contacted the seller, no reply. Opened case 3 days later and granted an immediate full refund straight away.
After what happened last time a seller did this (they misunderstoof the process and became abusive when I didn't send the item back), I messaged her asking her for her address so I could send it back but saying she would need to cover postage costs.
She has replied saying no, she will not be covering them. What is to stop me popping it in a post box with her address on but no stamps?

Because you need to send the item back by a tracked method (not recorded delivery). If you do as you say the seller wil just say that the item was never returned.0

She has already refunded me, by eCheque which is clearing as we speak.0

Just posting without postage deliberately would not make RM very happy; they class it as abuse/defrauding of the postal system.
Unfortunately you might have to swallow the cost for normal postage and leave appropriate feedback. I'm tempted to suggest you wait for the echeque to clear, but do whatever you feel is appropriate short of actually bringing RM into this.
And then stop buying clothes from private sellers (apart from hermum, obviously
). It's more trouble than it is worth. "Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

I just thought they would card her at the other end and she would have to pay the postage? I wasn't thinking I'd get it for free!0

I will wait for the eCheque to clear then post it 2nd class with POP0

Or wait for the refund to clear and tell her it is awaiting collection or postage, if she reimburses.0

I agree with theonlywayisup, dont return without some postage payment.
But if she's refunded without it being returned, which is not the usual way to go about this, does she actually want it back, has she asked you to return it?
She may have just cut her losses and considered it done with.0 -
Nah she wants it back. For some reason, this is the second one I have had where the seller has refunded immediately, but wants it back. I think they have become confused during the dispute process.0

They would but it really is abusing the postal system to do it deliberately and RM do not like it at all. That system is used for accidental underpayments and postage labels that fall off in the post. It's not meant to be a way to get free postage.
It's not really terribly ethical. You are wanting the seller to play fair here, so please don't stoop to their level.
