Oro Gold Cosmetics - wolfish salesmanship

I was too stupid to buy the products I tested. When I was at home I had an allergic reaction. I wanted to go return the product but they refused and stated all the time the policy that they only exchange. Now I sit with the cost of the product. I do not want anything else from them. Writing their Customer service thousands of emails. Nothing worked out.
Was anybody successful with a return?0 -

These companies clearly aren't the nicest of companies, but so far appear to be operating above the law (just) I have not come across this company, if they are stating one returns policy but printing another on the receipt/store signs its 'illegal' but also nearly impossible to prove, it becomes your word against theres, and their printed terms add slightly more credence to it in the absence of proof elsewhere...
No company has to offer you a refund if you buy from the shop, unless the product is faulty or has been 'missold' With beauty products this can be pretty difficult to ascertain, as claims are very vague and, well not everyone is gonna look like a supermodel no matter how much stuff they put on their face!
The allergic reaction again is not something that you can necessarily claim as a fault or anything to facilitate a refund. If you are prone to allergies then you should always take a sample or patch test, and not be rushed into things.
I know its an easy thing to say and I am awful in these situations too (I never get pushed into buying but I do find it horrendously awkward to say no and try to just ignore them and not get into conversation, I feel rude but I know otherwise I'll be there ages and still feel awkward at the end) but there is still a choice there.
I assume the products do work in some way, perhaps not to the tune of their cost or amazingly, but they are still beauty products. Could you perhaps regift it so to not swallow the entire cost?0 -
If anyone can offer you so many freebies and discounts, it gives you a great idea just how overpriced the gloop is to begin with ;-)0

Could you not say you are allergic to nearly everything and carry on walking? It works for me in the Trafford Centre and the motorway services where you sometimes get aggressive sales people with cosmetics.0

Okay, please I really do not want to come across as mean.
But, why the hell are women letting strange men get touchy feely with them?
Being hassled in to going to shops and having to listen to the chat.
Are you sheep? No! You are grown women, grow a back bone, say no and keep walking.
Me, well the death stare and I will rip you head off! Works wonder. Any man/woman that tried to randomly invade my personal space which is what seems to be happening here, I would report to the police. But to be honest if they did this in Belfast their knee caps would be gone pretty quickly.;)
The Dead Sea lot are in a few malls here, they say Hello, I say Bye and keep walking.0 -

The "free gift with purchase" deals are fantastic! They then get resold on eBay for peanuts. I buy 3 mini eyecreams, which equates to a full size pot, for less than half the price of buying one in store. Happy days!0 -
Thanks for all your replies.
After several times running into the store and claiming my money back, I just realized how dubious this company and its employees are the more I spoke with them. Its not anymore about my allergy, its now all the experience and hoax I had with this company. As already a lot of people has written their experience here and on other review platforms. I just want to put together the points/Hoax I experienced myself. I also emailed this list to their customer service team and I still claim for my refund.
Please see below the mail I have sent to them:
1. Allergic Reaction: (see pictures)
The Termica Mask, which was the ONLY product I wanted caused an allergic reaction.
I found out that your customer service management, incl. Judy White from the Mazal Enterprise informed all customers, that they can get a refund even if the product is already open, when is causes an allergic reaction. (Mine is still sealed and unopened)
2. 24 hours Patch test: (see picture of the packaging)
I told your sales assistant several times, that I would like to test it before, but she consist to sell it now (or never for this price again). It is even saying on the packaging that the 24 hours Patch test is required, which was not done on me, even if I told so.
3. Hoax: Sales Assistant, not a beauty expert, just a hard seller
Lxxxxx K.xxxx sold the items to me and she told me several times she is a beauty expert with diploma. Then she should have known about the Patch test as mentioned above. She told me, that day was her last day in London and I should use her offer before she leaves. Lie. She was there again when I was in the store for the refund.
Asking about ingredients and washing out instead of wiping out, she tried to distract me from details on the packaging and the truth by endless talking and holding my hand away from the packaging.
4. Hoax: Applied area of problems/ Usage/Durability/free Refill/ Wrong product given
Thermica Masks: Lxxxx said this product is a 24-months treatment for minimizing the pores. Using it only once a month. When the mask is empty after 18 months she promised me to have a free refill by just writing customer service and they will send me the portion for the left months. So she could justified the high price dividing it by 24 which I spend on a treatment on my face.
On your website and on the packaging it is saying it should be used once a week and it is nothing saying about a 24-month treatment.
When discussing with your store manager he refused the refill offer, that this is not true. But this was also one of the reasons why I have bought the mask!
Besides that the Thermica Mask is an Anti-Aging mask and not a pore minimizer.
The effect of having smaller pores was just when she wiped the mask off and it filled my pores…!
Furthermore, in the deal she should have given me testers of the 24k Activation Serum, exactly lasting for the 24 months treatment. But she gave me the eye serum testers when I checked my bag at home.
Peeling: From the peeling there came white skin out! But I just did a peeling with a peeling glove. And as I have darker skin the removed skin is also dark (see picture) After researching I found out it contains carboner, a thickener, which when combined with cetrimonium chloride and rubbed on the skin, forms white beads. The colorant in the product (which is not present in other Oro Gold products) is probably meant to make these look like skin. It is just like glue.
5. Hoax: no clear Prices, just selling tactic
I knew the products would be expensive so I wasn’t surprised when Lxxxx threw figures in the hundreds of pounds. She kept making different combinations of products and offering them to me at different prices (all in the hundreds), throwing extras, etc. she went on to show me on the computer how much they sold for so I could see what a bargain they were.
When I was again in the store for the refund, exactly the same selling tactics were applied on a lady, and she got even more products and same free facials then I did.
Looking on Amazon and online stores the products are 2/5 of that what they are selling in the store. And please don’t blame that these are dupes or anything else. They are mainly sold by Oro Gold themselves.
6. Hoax: No return policy
In your last mail you are saying: “This policy is displayed in the store at the till and on the invoice as you have noted.” How can I notice the display on the cash desk, when Lxxxx came with the card machine to the place I was standing and not in front of the cash desk?! This is also just a selling tactic. In addition when I was there on Friday, I saw the return policy signage, which was hidden on the botton line in the corner. In every other store with these kind of policies, the signage is clearly on the desk and almost same high as the eyes.
Furthermore, your invoice requires a signature to have read and understand your policy, which I have never signed. Lxxxx just folded them and quickly putted into the retail bag.
AND, your store manager Axxxx, who knows your policy very well and saw my red face, has clearly stated that I will get the refund! He said, I just have to email you first for the proper procedure of the refund.
7. Hoax: DAMAGED ITEM SOLD (see pictures)
After all these points and especially my concerned points 1 and 2 the allergic reaction, you still consist on your “policy”, OK lets talk with your policy and rules:
Lxxxx and the curled hair girl sold me the damaged Thermica Mask, which they were not allowed to sell to anybody. Lxxxxx was repeating this several times that she will get in trouble when she sells this mask to me and I should not tell anybody otherwise she would get in trouble with the management.
And in your last mail you are saying: “Please kindly note that our store policy states that for the safety of our customers, can cannot accept returns of products unless they are faulty.”
Your sales team broke your policy from the very beginning! So its my right to return a faulty product!
Do not come back with any exchanges or facials. I just want to have my refund nothing more and nothing less.
I am waiting for their reply now and see what happens next. I live only 15 minutes by walk away from the shop. I could go there every single day and discourage the next potential victims, I am super upset about my foolishness and the hoaxes I had experienced.0
