If you're only going to surf the net, how about a netbook? Slightly smaller screen, but much lighter. My current model is the one below:

(Seems to have gone up £20 since the weekend, you might want to look at the Asus models?)0 -
If its jus web surfing I'd go for a 2nd hand 1 can get good decent 1s for less than 100 quid0

(I think that Currys pricing ending in 97p means some sort of discount is applied.)0 -

Raspberry Pi’s are only £25 and are sufficient for surfing. Though there is a bit of setting up to do.Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0

:rotfl: Rubbish computers.
As somebody who repairs computers for a living I can honestly say your comment is rubbish. Asus computers are much more reliable than a lot of the other brands and one I would recommend.
The brands I do most repairs on are HP/Compaq, Acer/PB and Toshiba and they seem to have the most "common faults". I would never buy any of them no matter how good the spec for the money.
My trusted list would be Asus, Lenovo and Sony with Dell and Samsung in the middle.
I don't do many repairs on them but I would also avoid Advent just because the build quality is rubbish0 -
I agree as above with the exception of Dell. Dell have had shoddy build quality since 2008 and the introduction of the 1510.
Advent are rebadged Acers.0 -
