Best way to sort cards out

Hi I have 2 credit cards, a Barclay premium 22 months intrest free,£1400 on that 1. Other just a normal royal bank of scot 1,£1800 owed on that 1, had wedding that's why that much on that!! Is it best for me to merge them on another intrest free card or put 1 on other card would you still get intrest free doing that way. Also if get other card would that effect credit rating? Just that we looking at getting a mortage in next few months to. Hope you can help.

  • over pay as much as you can on both cards and dont take out another before you get a mortgage

    Whether a balance transfer would save you money or not depends on how quickly you would expect to be able to pay off the RBS card.

    If you can get the RBS card paid off in full relatively quickly, then pay the minimum on the Barclaycard (as it's interest free), and put as much money as you can towards the RBS card. Every £1 extra that you can pay off will reduce the interest you pay.

    Then once this is clear, shift your efforts to the Barclaycard.
