That's not uncommon. Did you reboot it yourself or allow OTM to do it?

Run aswMBR as below & post that log. Download it from the link below and save it to your desktop.

When you've downloaded it...

• Double click aswMBR.exe to run it.
• If prompted, click YES to scan with Avast! virus definitions.
• Set the AVscan to Quick Scan & click the Scan button.

• After the scan reports "Scan finished successfully", click Save log & save the log to your desktop.

• Click OK when prompted. aswMBR.txt & MBR.dat will be appear on your desktop.
• Click EXIT.
• Copy & paste the contents of aswMBR.txt here.

Should it report something, don't try to fix anything with it yet, just post the log.

I rebooted when OTM prompted...

LT doesnt seem to like that last one, starts to scan then shuts the LT down and re-starts without any files being available on the desktop when it boots back up... Tried numerous occasions Doesnt prompt to scan with Avast! virus defs either.

It may not prompt as you have avast installed.

Uncheck the option to Trace disk IO calls before starting the scan & see if it completes.

Nope, still doesn't like it...

Gets to a c/windows/bfsvc.exe file then bombs out. :-(

Run chkdsk.

That seems to have done the trick, I tried to do a disk check early one but it didnt seem to want to do it. It would just reboot without going thro the process. 7 bad sectors found...

Apart from the IP conflicts then is everything running Ok?

I'd take regular backups and keep an eye on things. If chkdsk is regularly finding bad sectors then it may be time to replace the HDD.
