How to repair furniture made by stapling..

Can anyone help, I'm trying to repair a bed frame that is a wooden frame but because its shoddily built (I wouldn't mind so much but it cost £345) they have stapled rather than screwed the frame together. Its the divan part of a guest bed, a single divan with another bed underneath. Its perfect in our spare room when family come to stay.
Whats happened is one corner has come apart and because its been stapled with 2inch long staples they have bent and come out so the corner has sort of collapsed we really can't afford to replace at the moment and I'm trying to repair it. Trouble is I can't get the staples out and they stick out by an inch underneath preventing me from fitting the wooden frame back together to screw and glue it .
Any ideas how I get the staples out I've tried everything from a lightly tapping them , to digging a screw driver under them but they won't budge... I've managed to remove the fabric cover that was also stapled on but that was only fixed with small staples which were easily removed...
I know its my own fault for buying such rubbish but it was what we could afford at the time.. and I have family coming later in the Summer
Thanks for any ideas...

Could you hammer them flat against the frame and then fix everything back together using screws?import this0

You could try using a claw hammer to pull them out or try bending the pins repeatedly until they break.0

Thankyou both of you, I couldn't hammer them flat without taking the whole thing apart which I really didn't want to do thanks for the suggestion.
Norman C bending the pins worked perfectly , they broke after 2/3 waggles I have them all out now... thankyou so much I had no clue they would break so easily I was trying to bang them back through and of course they kept bending...
My hubby is going to be surprised when he comes in and its all ready for him to screw and glue now.. I think I've done my part...
thanks to you both..#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j
