Can you just display a copy of your V5 with the emission on it?
  • According to a few websites, No? But also it says you need to go to A MOT test garage in Germany to be able to get one, but being we are arriving on a Saturday, and going till Tuesday, its going to be a bit hard.

i think the Mods Might need to move this to Motoring?

I have travelled to Germany lots since this rule has been in and i do not have a green sticker.I did last year go into special garage in Essen that does the stickers, and they told me I didn't need one it was for German cars only! Now I dont say they were right but i do say is i have drove many times into the cities included(its not needed for all cities) and do not have a sticker and have never been stopped or fined for not having one,I was even stopped for speeding and the police never said a word! So I wouldnt worry too much just drive there, and then when you find a garage open ask them. You do need to take your MOT with you anyway.

I'd ask an ABTA travel agent, oh I forgot you are one (?)

Your car needs to comply to the current regulations for the country it's registered in. So for a uk car, you need to take your insurance, tax, and mot. You don't need to display any german required documentation. (They should if they bring a german car here, but I doubt uk police would be aware of the requirements) You need to comply with local laws though, such as beam deflectors, triangle, breathalyser for the journey through france etc.

I know nothing but this might help.
