Help! travelling to Wembley by car - how???

Hi

I have to go to the England U-21 match on Saturday at the new supr dooper Wembley.

We are travelling from 300 miles away and need to carry some heavy equipment as I am working.

I have just found that there is no parking anywhere in the area, can this possinbly be correct???

It looks like we will have to drive down from the North West and find a station to park at and catch the tube/train.

Does any one know the best places to do this please, we will be using either the M40 or M1.

Many thanks

Bring back Cardiff/Manchester/Villa anywhere!

I'm not sure about M40 as i'm not a driver, but I know Wembley - you'd be mad to park there on a match day even if it is 'only' 60,000 people.

My tip would be to park at Stanmore tube station on the end of the Jubilee line, and it's about 15 minutes straight down to Wembley Park, no changing. You can park there, it's close to lots of motorways so you can get in and out easily, and also when you leave the match you are going the 'wrong way' compared to the crowds, so it should be easy. Below information re Stanmore Tube Car Park is googled - so can't guarantee it!

Monday – Friday: £3 per day
    Saturday: £1 per day
Sunday and B/H Mondays: £1 per day

The car park is operated by VIC and can be reached on: 0800 731 0710

Excellent info Sam Bee, that's just what I was hoping for.

    Any other suggestions welcome.

As for parking at grounds with "only" 60,000, we've been to the last few internationals at Od Trafford and Anfield, plus a few events at Cardiff and never had a problem and they are predominently used by car drivers.

    Thanks again, gc

Wow it's taken me 3 hours to get away from Old Trafford before, I guess it's about specialised knowledge.

You should try parking at my club Barnet, the massive crowds can leave you stuck in jams for most of the day :D

you can call the Hilton Wembley Plaza on Empire Way and I'm sure if you ask very nicely they'd let you book a car park space there (at a price I'm sure!) It's literally 5 mins walk from the new stadium
nothing to see here, move along...

You could try here. (Although I agree-take the tube if you can!)

Thanks OK sauce, I rang cs yesterday and they only cover events at the Arena, just concerned that on a Saturday morning Stanmore will be full.

Sorry June, didn't notice your reply.

There is only parking for VIP's and TV companies, the area is pedestrianised according to Wembley Stadium.

We use Stanmore tube station also when we go to Wembley for concerts. Its easy to get to and has a large car park.

The other alternative I can think of could be Amersham tube station which is relatively close to the M40 (Beaconsfield exit) and the trains go to Wembley Park aslo
