How can I find Old Credit Card Details

Hi,

I'm new to the forum, but hoping someone can help!

I had a credit card with RBS which was closed in 2008 (started 2002). I know had PPI on it. The problem is that I can't find the old statements (I thought I had them, but it seems I have lost them in a very recent house move, as I can't locate them anywhere).

This means I have lost the terms and conditions, as well as the old statements. I am registered with CreditExpert, so I hope I can detect anybody using the details from them if they were thrown away without being shredded.

Anyway, I am trying to locate the card details- including the card number. I contacted RBS, as I still have a current account with them, but they can't find any trace of a credit card in my name- despite being provided with a complete list of all previous addresses since 2002 (including postcodes). They say that they "might not carry details relating to cards closed in 2008".

I know the card was with RBS (both from memory and because it shows on my credit report). Looking at old bank statements on-line also show payments to an RBS credit card account (but not the full account details).

I have emailed CreditExpert/Experian, and they said they cannot provide me with the details of the account, just that it was with RBS (which I already know).

Is there anything else/anyone else I can contact to see if they might be able to provide the details?

Thanks for reading!

If this card was closed in 08 they should still have the details, send a Sar request, enclose £10 ask for all information they hold on you and give them 40 days to respond.
You can use the last 4 digits on your credit file to help them find you and any other info that may help.

    Thank you amersall.

I have sent them a letter with all the addresses, to which they replied they could not find a record of the card- I also supplied them with the start date, where I applied for the card, and date of account closure.

I will send them another letter with all the same details, plus the last 4 digits of the card from my credit report and hopefully that will get me somewhere.

    Thanks again!

    Thanks!

There should be some digits at the side of the card company on the file.
