Knee replacement and car insurance

Does anyone know if you have to inform DVLA and car insurers if you have had knee replacement. Have looked at their site and medical conditions but nothing about knee surgery.

Not as far as I'm aware. You can't drive if the doctor tells you to go home and keep your weight off the knee. But you can drive again when your doctor says you can. You don't need to notify the dvla, as it's not a condition of your licence, it's just a tempory medical condition, like a broken arm say. As it's not notifiable, you don't need to inform your insurer.

given people without knees can drive I'd say the fact they don't ask means they don't care
