Congrats to you and your girlfriend, TYAE, on your soon-to-be parenthood - that's if it hasn't already happened!
I'm seriously impressed by your success with Virgin cupid! Will you use it towards paying off your mortgage?0 -

Hi guys,
I feel like I haven't posted on here in ages - I've been messing about with daft posts on DFW "Last Post(er)" Thread, it's been good fun though.
I decided to get mortgage protection insurance that reduces its payout as the mortgage goes down. This cost me about £49 for a joint 138k policy with critical life cover. Once the house is paid off, I'll cancel this and get a (say) joint 70k term life & critical illness policy. This should be cheaper than the 138k mortgage protection. With no mortgage to pay off any more, the remaining Dither won't need a vast amount of money to get by.
I'm just waiting for the magical day when my next invoice is paid. My agent seems to be the slowest payer out of everybody's here. I think they like to hold onto my money as long as possible to gain the maximum interest. Clearly they're also good MSE'ers! I can't complain because the contract says they'll pay within 30 days and they do (just!).
I have only 5 more weeks to go on my current project and then I'm unemployed (gulp)! Luckily, I have paid for all of my flights already so my expenses will just consist of hotel and food bills. This should allow me to bank a decent amount of money and hopefully I'll be able to line up my next contract to start from Mon 4th June so that I don't have to dip into the offset money!Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)

If we are able to pay mortgage in 3-4 years (as hoped) then it'll of cost us only £2800 for the peace and mind it has given us; especially as im due to be a father any time soon
