Basically, I'm getting now look from them. I took a loan out with Wonga (regrettably), I missed the promise date, so I made a repayment plan with them, but as soon as I got my wages in my bank account they took 5 transactions without my permission and without my knowledge, when the date we arranged for repayment is no where near yet. These transactions have wiped my bank account
Can I get that money back until the arranged date?
PLEASE HELP!!

It is standard practice for pay day loan companies to keep taking money from your bank account - you did actually give permission when you accepted their loan. It is called a continuous payment authority. This method of payment is set up by you giving your debit or credit card details to a company to which you wish to make a regular payment. This can be done over the phone, in person or online. Often there is no written record of the authority being set up. A continuous payment authority gives the company you are paying the mandate to:
- Take payments on dates of their choosing
- Take payments for different amounts
You should withdraw the authority in writing to both your bank and Wonga. That said, some recommend that you close your account completely and open a new account.
As you have an agreement in place, you could write/e-mail or call them and ask for the money they've taken back.0 -
Perfectly normal, you'll not get it back and expect them to come calling again on a regular basis whenever they like.
They are experts at getting money back from people who break their promises."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -
Is the repayment plan in writing - ie in an email or was it done over the phone?
If was by email you have a case as can prove what they said if by phone you wont get a penny back.0 -
I would contact your bank and complain about "unauthorized cardholder not present" card usage.
I did this with a DVD by post rental company and an insurance company (there has to be a law against regarding automatic car insurance renewal)
I would even get your card cancelled and get a new one0 -
Has the loan been repayed ?0

No doubt the OP also agreed in writing to payback the money they owed on time in the first place..
Might be cruel to say this but if the OP has paid back what they owe then its time to move on.. rather than requesting to have money paid back to them they then still owe..0
