Haven Perran Sands, hints and tips please, anyone done surf lessons?

Just booked a week with our 3 kids age 9 to 13 staying in our motorhome so not worried about accomadation reports.

Anyone got any useful advice about the park and surrounding area?

They have a surf school on site but cant find much info on it, does anyone know about it please?

Couple of years since we went, but it's a reasonable site.
It is a bit of a trek to the beach as there's a hill to go down and quite a few steps. Beach is nice though.

Just pop into the surf school and ask about lessons. They were open most of the day, but I think you had to book in advance as there was demand.

We only hired boards and wetsuits, the 2 older boys wanted to try surfing on their own. Hired a body board for the younger one.

Perranporth is the nearest town. Obviously touristy, but was nice at night for a walk. Newquay isn't too far away and Padstow is also nice.
