How much to send a 2.5KG item by Royal Mail?

How much does it cost to send a 2.5kg item by RoyalMail.

I've worked out if would cost £9.60ish by Recorded Delivery, so decided to take a look at Special Delivery.

However, on the page, I don't understand what £7.90 and £8.90 n relation to the weight!

Any help please?

If using Special Delivery ensure that its within the size limits
The maximum dimensions of a rectangular item are 610mm x 460mm x 460mm, and the maximum length of a rolled item is 900mm.

If you’re sending rolled items please also note that the length plus twice the diameter of your item must not exceed 1040mm.

We use DHL via Selective 2007 on eBay if anything costs more than £4.00 with RM

    http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Selective2007 £4.25
    http://selectiveuk.tripod.com/id9.html £3.99

Wow, thanks very much for the info guys. Peskie, that link was very useful :)

TK, how have you found the service because £3.99 is a lot cheaper than the £7.70 - £10.52 RM service.

DO you think they would still pickup the item today? oh and have you ever sent a TV with them?!

I use DHL too, but book through PayPerDrop

Yes, they cost more than Selective but their customer service is MUCH BETTER! (£5.99)

They insure you for £150 but you can upgrade insurance in their shop.
