Submit a 200 word story on a tourist destination offered by Mail Travel.
On 24 August, an independent judge will shortlist the 5 best stories. Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a travel writing master class on Friday 31 August in London (travel not included).
Shortlisted candidates are required to provide a short review of the master class of 100 words.
After attending the travel writing master class, the 5 shortlisted candidates are required to write a 250 word travel story that includes all four of the Deep South states of the USA: Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama. The story needs to be submitted by 5.00pm on 14 September.
Submitted stories will be featured on Mail Travel’s Facebook page from 17 to 21 October with the public voting for their favourite. The story with the most public votes at 9.00am on 21 October 2012 wins.
Prize:
2 places on the Elvis Presley, Memphis, New Orleans and Nashville Escorted Tour with departure date 20 November 2012. Includes return scheduled flights from selected regional airport, seven nights' room-only accommodation in a series of good standard hotels, a coach touring itinerary as described, the services of a tour manager.
