Job advertised many times........

If you were applying for work and have applied once for a job but have seen the same job advertised 6 times in the last 8 months, what would that tell you?

They can't fill it? Criteria too tight?
Maybe they have filled it but the person left of got fired?

If you had applied once 8 mths ago, would you try again?

I would try again, the job could have been between you and the other person. If you don't try you will never know

No never got an interview before as told they were looking for media experience. Just wondered why they would advertise non stop.

Could be an agency?? Where was this position advertised? Has anyone asked you to register with them?

I ask as some agencies have a habit of placing phantom vacancies in the Jobcentre and using them as bait in order to get new people on their books.

No it's a job direct with the company.

Okay, fair enough. I would be tempted to try once more. You've nothing to lose really.

If unsuccessful, and they keep advertising, I'd contact them again, asking just why they keep advertising the same position repeatedly. Politely, of course...

They must have their reasons, no matter how barmy!

They aren't really going to tell me if I am not succesful in getting an interview. Just seems very odd they dismiss people due to industry they have worked in and make a criteria that it seems they can't fill.

I will apply again as it's worth a try.

No it's one job reporting to one manager. It says that in the job spec - a small team of two.

same thing has happened to me the same job advertised at least 5 times in the past 7-8 months, I applied every single time its come up though!

Sometimes they dont bother taking the jobs off the websites, after the vacancy has been filled.
Just like most of them cant be bothered to let people know they have received their cv, or that they have been unsuccessful.
