Just booked 4 nights in August for EUR270, which is already pretty good value, and got a voucher for EUR120 free spend in the restaurant and and bar during our stay. That makes the net cost of the hotel just EUR38 (GBP 31) per night.

This is a top quality 4 star hotel with a pool where I have stayed several times. See tripadvisor for very good reviews

The basic room rate deal seems to be for August only, which is a quiet time in Madrid, but the free spend EUR 30 per night seems to run to the end of the year

Be aware that this hotel is close to the airport, not the city. A good deal, but you'll be doing a fair bit of travelling to get to the tourist spots.

It's 14km from the airport and 6km from Puerta del Sol

For football fans it's 1.5km from the Bernabeu stadium

Metro is great for getting from A to B in Madrid.

We stayed near the Bernabeu at NH hotel (FREE thanks to Easyjethotels price promise a few years back :j ) Its quite a nice affluent area.

Make sure you read the ts and cs on the voucher carefully - we recently had the same deal in Munich and happily thought we could use it towards the cost of our breakfast, but when we checked out we found that breakfast was excluded from the offer. Annoyingly we'd also eaten in the restaurant and drunk int he bar, having paid cash they couldnt refund us. It's also worth joining the club Melia on their website, you get half price breakfast
