Help with travel plans please

I am not sure where this should have been posted but this seemed the most relevant place.
I am planning a rather big trip for the week from of the 23rd September. I will be traveling from Oxford to Inverness on my own (which is not so much of a problem) but I will have 2 large suitcases, 2 standard suitcases, and 1 small bag to take with me.
I can not drive and am reliant on public transport to do this, but am struggling with how to make this journey possible.
If I go by train I will struggle to make my changes lugging this much luggage with me. I have looked into going by bus but they will only allow one standard case and one bag :(
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can make this trip possible. I do not have access to any discounted travel cards.
I thought about sending my larger suitcases by courier but not sure if I could do this or how to do this. Any help from you wonderful people would me greatly received.

Do you really need all that C... Stuff?

    No.
  • Just had a quick peek at things...one of the quickest ways is by Megabus Oxford to London at silly o'clock 0410 arriving London Victoria bus station at 0550...for £1....all prices are this even though they are not yet on the system...book several seats, and each seat is allocated your luggage. I think they are every half hour. I know it sounds so stupid lol but it works.

Either get a taxi from where you get off at London Vic to London Kings X....whatever it costs, for the 0700 to Edinburgh with no change, £29.50...or struggle with the underground to reach Kings X for the same train. You get to Edinburgh at 1125 if all goes well on Sunday lol. They only allow 3 items per passenger but am sure you can wing it on a Sunday morning....Flash a thigh and cleavage).

Then catch the Megabus from just outside the station at 1230 giving you plenty of time. You will arrive in Inverness at 1605 depending on everything lol...tickets cost £1 so book several seats to allow for your luggage.

So really if they let you board at London and dont have to pay extra, and you pay a max of £5 for each bus journey, the total should be a few pennies less than £40. You have to book all in advance on Megabus website and Nationalrail or equivalent.....

There are cheaper ways with just Megabus but too much hassle with luggage and a long, long journey...better to make things easy.,,Good luck whatever you choose.

Nowt wrong with Inverness, it's quite beautiful up there. Get some quotes from couriers, they are not as expensive as you would imagine. Good for you making changes rather than struggling on.
