Hi, just thougt id let any ebay sellers out there know about a scam to get user id's and account details.
I was selling my car on ebay and had someone post a question to me which had no relevance to my item. I have had three of these since, they say something along the lines of ive seen a smiliar item check it out on this link and they put a link at the bottom. DO NOT CLICK ON IT!!
I made that mistake and they automatically recieved all my details and password. They hacked into my account and started to do they same thing to people in my name. i then recieved angry emails from people telling me to F off when i hadnt done anything.
If this happens you you must forward the email on to ebay so they can check it out. Otherwise they'll be able to get into your account and god knows what will happen.
Luckily, i think my account is now sorted out, but i was worried that my paypal account could be accessed and my bank details etc. etc.
Sorry to waffle on but i just wanted to highlight the dangers of these emails.

Like pennylane says these phishing mails are very common not only on ebay/paypal but for other organisations as well. Do take a look through the sticky thread on the top of this ebay board and keep safe out there!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
