EA and Rightmove

HELP

My EA is utterly useless and I just wanted to check out a few things with you as to how it works around the country

They keep removing my property from Rightmove for one reason or another. So far it has been off for 48hrs!!

If you were to ask your EA to add a new picture, change the order of pictures- just simple stuff like that, how long would it take from the original email or phone cal to them to it actually being removed from the site and back on again with the changes added?

I am not an EA but it sounds as though you are having a tough time. It is strange as you would think that in today's climate that they would want as much information about your house and the most tempting info poss to lure in buyers. Esp as it is how they make their money.

If Right move is anything like most retailer based systems the second that they change an item it is loaded within milli seconds. So I guess the time delay it down to them. Again i have not used right move as an EA only as a buyer. But for example if you change something on say Auto trader or ebay it is done there and then. I do not see any reason why their systems would be any different.

If you are not happy why not move we with your feet and go to an EA you can give you better service. After all lots of people use right move. That is how I saw the house I now have.
Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A

You seem to presume it's the EA's fault and not Rightmove's....

Why do you feel it necessary to 'change the order' of the pictures?

    Oh I don't presume, I know!

They have removed the listing once before because one EA in the office thought we hadn't approved it but we had! They waited of course until we asked about it to then reinstate it on the site!!!

This 48hr wait is due to them removing it to add on two pictures for me- which they knew on monday they couldn't add as they were portrait instead of landscape- no one contacted me about this until I called today to complain, then they told me they would just reinstate the original listing!!! This phone call took place at 11am today- my house is yet to reappear on rightmove!!

From speaking to EA's - some seem to upload details and changes overnight, others can upload the same instantly. I suspect it depends on the 'package' that the EA's buy from RM and it may also depend on whether or not the EA is part of a chain.

Sorry to hear your EA is giving you the run around. All you can do is keep pestering them to ensure the details are the best they can be. And, of course, dump them when the tie in period has finished.
It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your EA and Rightmove :( We experienced similar with a photo issue last year when we were selling and our house details were removed then not put back on for a couple of days soon after going on the market.

We had already had one viewing before this occured - but rather annoyingly these people were not proceedable (indeed they weren't even on the market!), which also peed us off as we had particularly requested proceedable viewers only :(

Very fortunately soon after our details went live again on RM we had a viewing which resulted in an acceptable offer - hopefully this is just a glitch for you and you'll have similar luck very soon! If not and they continue to play silly **** I would definitely consider going elsewhere when your tie-in period comes to an end!

  • Hope you have got this problem solved by now, the vast majority of estate agents upload via an auto feed from their software programs, and Rightmove process these feeds 4 times a day when they are received, what your EA could of done is logged into Rightmove Plus, the EA side of Rightmove and make any amendments which would display instantly, and then made the same amendments on their in house software package which would of uploaded when they upload most likely overnight, but the end result would have been instant changes, and their own in-house software would have caught up when the feed was sent that night.

    Sounds bizarre OP

...From my experience, depending on the software they use, but ours used to sync every few hours. Except for once when some numpty turned off the main computer over the weekend... everything uploaded on the monday morning though.

Unless someone has accidently turned off the main computer, which would probably only really be feasible over the weekend then id say that they sounds like they need a kick up the a8rse

My estate agents systems update overnight, so any changes made that day are seen on Rightmove the following day. So in most cases less than 24 hours.
