Me personally I wouldnt think it appropiate to have had a beer before attending the JC however I also wouldn't think it appropiate to be smoking a "special cigarette" outside the entrance but that doesn't stop many of them at my centre! That would make me terminate an interview quicker than the smell of beer (as long as the person was clearly not drunk which presumably you weren't after 1) but they all still seem to manage to sign on.
