Credit Approval Frustration

in Credit cards
Hi All,
I'm getting a bit frustrated as I have been turned down for a credit card and don't seem to be eligible anywhere at the moment.
I have no credit cards, no loans and no debt, the only thing I can think of is because I have repatriated back to the UK from the Middle East. I moved back in Sept 09 and have been in full time employment ever since, so I'm assuming that I may not be getting approved because I virtually don't have a cred history and am still within a 3 year history period? I do have standing orders with my insurance and utilities, which I thought would help.
Can anyone advise? All help is appreciated as this is quite frustrating indeed. I'm careful with my money and bills and it feels like if I were in debt I would get a card quicker.
Thank you
C

Where have you applied to and been turned down by?
Who do you bank with and have you approached them?
Are you eligible to be on the electoral roll and if so are you on it?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Hi Tixy
Thanks for your reply.
I applied with tesco. I am on the electoral role as well. I bank with Santander and recently they mentioned that I was approved for a loan so I thought this meant that I must exist on some credit score. I haven't approached them as I was looking for something with 0% upto a year and currently they only offer upto 3 months.
Thanks

Take them up on it and pay back within the timescales - it will be a start - other offers may then follow.
Nobody is entitled to a long 0% offer.0
