starting up business tips and questions...

Hi thanks all for great tips for all of us starting up new business...
im in the process myself and would like to share my experiences - hopefully they will help others too... Beforehand I also have a few questions myself:
1. does anyone know if and where you can get a simple money book (simple money in, money out, total) or where is the best and cheapest place to buy a good1??
2. I need a landline with broadband connection (who is the cheapest provider? I already use Internetcalls.com thanks to Martin (so all costs 2 landlines and abroad I pay 10euros/4months so it is awesom!, but what i need is the cheapest line rental maybe with some free calls, but with broadband, (ideally with wi free router)
3. does any1 know if privilige car insurance offer free upgrade if you use your car for business journeys? (i know some oter companies do it 4free and others charge) not sort of rep travel - just around the town getting to appointments etc?
4.if i want to make a little office in my flat - still leave there but have a desk and place where i could invite a customer back, but not on regular basis as i will be working - meeting clients in town etc, do i have to pay business tax rather than council tax??

thats questionsfrom me and here are some tips i found really helpful and moneysaving.
1. if u want a website - use ur eg. orange phone/broadband account for domain host (costs me nothing at the moment to host my website) and I paid ab 6£ for 2 yrs for my domain registration with fast host (also access to control panel, which is gd.)
2. use internetcalls.com 4 ur business (free calls - well costs 10euros every 4months, so awesome)
3. princes trust website has loads and loads of helful tips and procedures on how 2 start your business.

well hope these help a little bit at lease... any moneysaving tips very welcome and watch this space, I ll post more stuff as I find out...

    Hi,
    Here's my views:-

    1. you can buy real fancy software to keep your costs and you can buy expensive pre-drawn out books but really all you need is an in and out column, date, how much for and where it came from/went to!
    2. Orange/Talk talk are the cheapest in that they are free if you have mobiles with them but after watching watchdog were they both got a hammering for poor service I'd be careful. I can recommend virgin (along with BT came top of watchdogs service) but you pay a premuim for it!
    3. NO idea about insurance..sorry.
