Have been dropping in at this forum recently. So have put it down as bad omen, as son has now received TPS charge notice forwarded to him by previous owner for overstaying in a halfords carpark by 29 minutes.
He recently bought car from workmates dad and and car was still registered to him at time as documents had not been processed through DVLA.
Previous owner has replied to TPS, saying not owner at time and to recheck with DVLA for current owner and also telling them any further letters will be sent back unopened at their expense.
Due to my looking at this forum I have advised son to ignore any letters that might be sent to him.
What son is worried about is can they keep sending letters to previous owner if car was still legally registered to him at time, as per new wrong law? as he does not want him to get hassle from TPS.
He also does not want to make it easier for TPS to get his own name and did ask previous owner not to give it.
catch 22?
Have also looked at planning aspect as per posts on this forum, and it looks like Halfords/TPS have no permission for the cameras that photed car in and out of carpark so have reported online to local planning dept, see what transpires.
Any advice etc appreciated

Hi. My Wife and I have ignored two invoices from TPS and as far as I know, TPS don't do court.
The new keeper liability does not become law until October 1st0 -

Seems fine. TPS will either pay another £2.50 to the DVLA, or completely ignore the letter and carry on churning out computer generated threatograms to the old RK until they exhaust their letter chain.0 -

Thank you both for replies, Son does not want letters sent to the old RK as he has been ill and that was reason he sold car. Son has asked him to ignore or send back without stamp (my advice) but is concerned original RK will worry about proceedings against him, even though my son asked me for advice and told him as per forum IGNORE etc
We will wait and see if original owner gets any more of these junk letters or if they will pay an extra £££ to get my sons name from DVLA
Have been interested in this forum recently and have taken in the advice given. Keep up the good work.

If the PPC sends another letter to the old RK, why not, albeit against all our usual advice, use the PPC's greed against them? Admit to being the driver. If you're going to bait a hook, use a nice big, juicy worm. PPC then sends their letters to son, not the old RK. Son ignores them. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.
