im suick of these advertisemnet banners popping up on pages thatI view on the net. Ive noticed that on some web pages I go to some are from places ive visited on the internet. Nationwide for example, after going onto their site I find them appearing on pages that have spaces for ads. I play online golf and these ads really slow my pc down also I am making someone else money by these irretating ads popping up everywhere on the internet.

ive tried to install ad blocker for chrome but it wont dl for some reason. im using chrome btw

Baiscally is there a way of stopping ads, not pop-up adds but banner ads that appear in spaces on web pages?

I use Adblock Plus with Firefox and it works well.

I don't know "ad blockerf", but have you checked in the preferences that you actually have a filter/list installed? Without subscribing to a list it probably won't do anything.

It works well with Chrome too. Try this and allow it for incognito if that is important for you.

AdBlock works great for Chrome, and I mean AdBlock, not any of the similarly-named products trying to piggy-back on AdBlock's success.

There is an optional version of AdBlock called CatBlock, which is a hoot if you like moggies: instead of blanking out the ads, it replaces them with pics of mogs! Unfortunately you have to pay monthly for this one.

On Adblock plus for Firefox, I use the Easylist filter and Malware domains filter, both are available for the chrome version of Adblock plus

    Works a treat

I have found that ad blocker in Firefox can (or appears to) slow things and it also leaves whitespace where the ads would have been which can look odd, so I haven't used it of late.

But I'm now fed up of ads for hair restoration, so this thead might just've prompted me to put it back in again.

It shouldn't - after all it's blocking the download of third party content. If anything pages should load quicker.
