Bought Fake Refund Information Required

Hello

I bought a fake item (not knowing) from a seller on ebay. They are using authentic photos of item taken from a company website, and using them on their auction page.

I have been offered full refund less P+P.

Does seller have to refund P+P even though it was a fake item?

Thanks

You cannot force them, Are they a UK seller?

Is the return address in the UK?

You need to be careful as any attempt to force them could be seen as feedback extortion.

But a message along the lines of, As these items are obviously fake and you make no mention of this i will be expecting a full refund of my initial payment and the costs of return postage.

Leave it at that and if they dont then leave low stars and a nicely worded negative.

Open a SNAD dispute in eBay, making sure to put "fake" as the reason for opening the case. They will have to refund at least the item cost + original P&P, but if you have to return the item to them (and eBay may rule that you do not) then eBay will not make them pay you that return cost. Make sure you use a tracked service.

    Thanks for reply.

I have already done the message sending, items fake etc and pictures showing real from fake.

Seller came back at me with their returns policy. I mean, can their returns policy stand up if the items they are selling are fakes?

Why should i be out of pocket because this scum is selling fakes. To add insult to injury, i have to pay to send items back to get my refund.
  • Just go to the eBay resolution centre, click 'I received an item that does not match the seller's description.' Select your item then explain in there that the item is fake. eBay should tell you to return the item. You will need to send the item back tracked, either with https://www.myhermes.co.uk, https://www.collectplus.co.uk or https://www.interparcel.com. you hould get a refund of everything but your return postage.
